The way to live our dreams is to devote ourselves to whatever it takes to achieve them.
Whatever. It. Takes.
I am a dreamer—but I don’t leave it at that. I do what the dreams require of me. The dream is the “It.” The devotion is in doing whatever “It” takes.
The pathway is clear—not easy, but clear:
Know yourself.
Define your “It.”
Do what “It” takes.
Become whatever “It” is.
Expand and contract into all “It” takes.
The question is not “Can you?” but “Will you?“
Know Your “It”
Wise souls across the ages have taught that you can be, do, or have almost anything—as long as you are willing to pay the price. Will you pay it? Will you do whatever the dream takes?
The key is knowing what “It” is for you. What do you dream of being, doing, and having? What is the “It” that calls your name right now?
Of course, we will have many desires in our lifetime, but each one demands focus and energy. Too many dreams at once divide our devotion. Clarity brings power. Choose your “It” with both heart and wisdom.
Clarity is devotion’s greatest ally.
Doing what “It” takes means pure devotion in action. It’s not wishful thinking—it’s full-bodied commitment. My husband, Gary, says that to succeed at any devotion, we must wake with it, work with it, and sleep with it.
When I dreamt of becoming a fashion designer, I had to do more than dream. I studied fabrics and trims, sketching and sewing. I took garments apart to learn their hidden construction. And I paid attention to what women truly wanted to wear. I sold what I created. I worked in the industry until my inner vision and outer reality matched.
Becoming happens by doing.
Becoming Your Dream
A dream is not fulfilled until you embody it. I transformed my mind, heart, body, and soul into a fashion designer. I didn’t just design fashion—I became fashion, and wore it, lived it, breathed it, until my vision and my reality were one.
Later, when I longed for a lifelong partnership, I brought the same devotion. In the early days I could not divide my focus, but once my first “It” was rooted, I expanded into the next. And I found Gary. My dream of partnership became my truth.
Embodiment is where vision becomes reality.
I offer these glimpses of my path not as self-portrait, but as proof of what is possible. The pathway of devotion works again and again—whether for art, love, or the next dream waiting in our hearts. Our potential to embody what matters most is as endless as our willingness to give ourselves to it.
This is how we live the lives we dream of—by giving our all to what we long for.
Step by step, devotion turns vision into reality. Whatever it takes.
